Iceland's Keflavik International Airport is the largest in the country servicing international transport to a range of destinations. It is situated about 31 miles from Reykjavik , close to the town of Keflavik. Local transport include a shuttle bus service, a minibus, budget car rentals and taxis.

The airport handles an average 2 million passengers per year, in international flights alone. Domestic flights are offered at the nearby Reykjavik Airport.

Services include leisure shops and restaurants. A wide range of stores and shops can be found at the Leifur Eiriksson Air Terminal. Duty Free items are also at hand upon arrival. Only a few food and beverage joints are available. An a la carte restaurant is arranged, combining parts of Cafe Europe and Cafe International. There is also a very efficient baggage counter, with a police post, serving as a lost and found counter. Information desks and a tourist office are also at hand in every corner. The IcelandicBuraeu of Tourism office can be found at the Arrivals Hall. Excellent disabled facilities are made available for the benefit of those with mobility issues. Other services are cash facilities, telephones and wireless internet. Airport parking is also available.

The shuttle bus service connects the airport to the city while the minibus heads to Blue Lagoon. Cheap car rental at Keflavik is readily available in the arrivals hall where car rental counters are posted. Cheap car hire companies include Akureyrar, Atlamo, Atlas, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National. Taxis can be found in front of the arrivals hall.
