Cairo International Airport in Egypt is situated approximately 15 kilometers from the city's business area. The airport is considered to be the busiest in all of Egypt and second in all of Africa. The airport handled close to 14.5 million passengers and 138,000 flight movements in 2008, living up to its title as the busiest airport in the country. The airport can be accessed through buses, taxis and cheap car hire at the Cairo International Airport.

The airport is composed of 3 terminals, each equipped with excellent passenger services such as information desks, ATMs and 24 hour currency exchange facilities as well as mailing posts. Restaurants and shops are abundant within the three terminals. The bars located in the departures areas of the terminals serve for 24 hours. Shopping facilities are of all shapes and sorts such as gift shops, book shops, clothing shops, news stands, and duty free shops. A pharmacy is also at hand for your medicinal needs. Luggage facilities are also available as well as conference and business centres. The airport is also disabled-friendly with wheelchairs and adapted toilets at hand. Those who would require special assistance are advised to contact their airlines beforehand.

Transport options are verily available. Shuttle buses serve for free between the terminals. Connections to the city are made possible by three major roads, namely, the Salah Salem road, the Autostrad Road and the one running from Cairo-Suez highway. The Salah Salem Road runs past Heliopolis by downtown. Shuttle buses have varying and ideal destinations as well as the airport bus service. Cheap car hire is also another option. Cheap car hire services are available from the airport for booking and arrangements.
